Adult ADHD Assessment
Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder that begins in childhood and often persists into adulthood. It is characterized by pervasive issues with inattention, hyperactivity, or a combination of both and the severity of it greatly varies from person to person. For some, symptoms may be mild and cause minimal concerns. For others, it can greatly impact work, school, home life, or relationships on a daily basis.
If you, your loved ones, your professors at school, your employer, or your health care providers have raised concerns about your symptoms, past or present, you are not alone.
Dr. Kelemen offers comprehensive diagnostic evaluations for ADHD, complete with a full written report.

What if I don't have ADHD?
What treatments or accommodations are available for ADHD?
Dr. Kelemen's process starts with an initial consultation to help determine if this is the right kind of evaluation for you. In any case, a number of mental and physical health conditions can produce symptoms that may feel or look similar to ADHD. This is what makes a thorough evaluation so important. The purpose of the evaluation is to provide the most accurate diagnosis and understanding of your symptoms, as well as recommendations that are tailored to your exact needs.
Occasionally, the diagnosis may be inconclusive due to the complexity of overlapping symptoms and conditions. In these cases, Dr. Kelemen will discuss any suspected need for more comprehensive medical or psychological testing (e.g., neurology, neuropsychological testing, etc.).
The two most common treatments for ADHD are therapy and medication.
Many individuals with ADHD are able to get school and workplace accommodations. Depending on your particular needs, Dr. Kelemen will provide specific recommendations for accommodations in your report, which you can provide to your employer or your school.
Common accommodations include extended deadlines and testing time, additional breaks, access to a note-taker, and access to a distraction-free work or classroom environment, to name a few.
